Nepali national team has been touring Mumbai as a part of preparation for the upcoming ICC World T20 Qualifiers to be held in the UAE in March. Nepal is set to play six T20 and two 50-over matches in the Mumbai Tour.
According to cricket umpire Raman Siwakoti, who is following the Nepali team in Mumbai, Nirlon Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat first at the Bombay Gymkhana Ground. [break]
Nepal restricted them at 124/9 in 20 overs as Chandra Saud took four wickets. Amrit Bhattarai and Shakti Gauchan claimed two wickets each while Krishna Karki took a wicket. Mohit Parwal was the highest scorer for Nirlon as he scored 53 runs off 43 balls. Rahul Sagar and Raju Sharma contributed 15 runs each for Nirlon while opener Dharam Ganatra scored 17 runs.
In reply, Nepali Captain Paras Khadka scored 57 runs off 44 balls and Sharad Vesawkar remained unbeaten for 49 runs off 41 balls to guide Nepal to 128/5 in 19 overs. Khadka struck five boundaries and two sixes while Vesawkar hit five boundaries and a six.
Khadka and Vesawkar put up a 100 runs partnership for third wicket. They played 81 balls to put together the 100-run partnership.
Opener Paresh Lohani scored 12 runs while another opener Pradeep Airee scored just 1 run. Prithu Baskota remained not out for six runs. Mehboob Alam and Gyanendra Malla were both out for duck. Rahul Sagar took two wickets.
