“The present leadership of judiciary is somehow responsible for the dissolution of (the erstwhile) Constituent Assembly and bring about the current state of uncertainty in the country,” the NEFIN said in a statement today. [break]
It added, “It is our understanding that the motive behind giving the leadership of government to the head of the judiciary actually is not to hold new CA elections but to further slow down the drive for state restructuring and inclusiveness.”
Describing the latest political development as ‘a shameful act in democracy’, and a ‘conspiracy’ to eliminate the agenda of federalism and inclusion, the NEFIN has called on all its constituent bodies to take to the streets to resist the move.
