Speaking to myrepublica.com on Tuesday, Singh said, “The phone conversation among the security chief of the institution, high-commissioner of Pune and my husband must be investigated,” adding, “If anyone can prove that I have been involved in anti-India activities, I am ready to face punishment.”
Claiming that her husband hatched a conspiracy against her, Singh said, “I have never done anything like that. I have no connection with the Indian Maoists. I don´t even understand the P of politics.”
She was of the view that the matter must be solved through legal means. The police seized her mobile phone, laptop, and diaries.
Singh is a third year editing student at the Film Television Institute of India in Pune. She was deported on December 5 on charges of "anti-national activities", the details of which have not been divulged by the Maharashtra State Police.
