KATHMANDU, Sep 28: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has given industrialists a 21-day ultimatum to pay their outstanding electricity bills for consumption through dedicated feeders and trunk lines.

In a notice issued on Sunday, the NEA stated that industries must settle electricity charges for the period between mid- Jan 2016 to mid-April 2018 by November 3.

Earlier, customers with pending dues had been allowed to file applications for administrative review until mid-May 2025. However, the NEA’s board meeting on September 26 decided to end that provision and halt all administrative review procedures. As a result, industrialists must now clear their dues as per the previously determined tariff rates.

According to the NEA, billing will be calculated based on the demand recorded in Time of Day(TOD)  meters and the energy consumption recorded during specific time intervals.
