NC reveals seven potential candidates for Illam-2 by-election

KATHMANDU, March 27: Nepali Congress (NC), the major opposition party, has put forward a list of seven individuals as potential candidates for the upcoming by-election in Illam-2.

KATHMANDU, March 27: Nepali Congress (NC), the major opposition party, has put forward a list of seven individuals as potential candidates for the upcoming by-election in Illam-2.



Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, spokesperson for NC, said that the party will determine its candidates for the by-elections in Ilam-2 and Bhajang-1 on April 20.

According to Uddhav Thapa, president of the party for Koshi Province, the recommended candidates include Dambar Bahadur Khadka, Nagendra Kumal, Ramesh Lingden, Chandra Maya Limbu, Bhesh Raj Acharya, Keshav Thapa and Shani Kal Tamang.


The Illam-2 byelection is scheduled for April 27, following the demise of Subash Nembang, a prominent CPN-UML leader and lawmaker.
