NC leaders urges PM not to make political appointments

KATHMANDU, June 7: Nepali Congress urged Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal not to make political appointments and any important decision saying the current government has been changed into ´caretaker´ one.



A team led by NC General Secretary Prakash Man Singh met Prime Minister Khanal at the latter´s official residence in Baluwatar, on Tuesday morning, and drew his attention.[break]



The current government has been automatically changed into ´caretaker´ after the five-point agreement signed by the senior leaders of the major political parties,Unified CPN-Maoist, NC and CPN (UML) on May 28 and submitted the memorandum urging not to make major decisions and appointments as per the decision made by NC Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting, said NC leader Singh.



On the occasion, the team urged Khanal not assign for any posts in different universities including the Vice-chancellor in the Tribhuvan University.



Singh was accompanied by NC central members Dilendra Badu and NP Saud.
