NC leader Shekhar Koirala for parliament election

KATHMANDU, June 16: Central member of the Nepali Congress, Dr Shekhar Koirala, has said election to the legislature-parliament should be held to bring constitution with two-third majority in the parliament.



Releasing a mouthpiece of the Solukhumbu-Kathmandu liaison committee, Solukhumbu Pukar, in the capital on Saturday, leader Koirala said the issues remained contentious on constitution writing need to be settled through referendum.[break]



He stressed that the nationality must not be jeopardized in the name of ethnicity. Similarly, another central member Bal Bahadur KC said the internal disputes in the party must be ended soon to strengthen the party.



Moreover, senior journalist Purushottam Dahal said the democratic practice was facing threats in Nepal. He expressed confidence that the Solukhumbu Pukar would function as an intellectual medium for the protection of democratic practice.



Also speaking on the occasion were Chairperson of Nepal Women´s Association, Dr Deela Sangraula, and liaison committee Chairman Shree Lal Thapamagar.
