Agitating cadres vandalized and torched the district contact office of former lawmaker Ram Ayodhya Prasad Yadav of Nepali Congress in Kalaiya Municipality-5. Property worth Rs 1 million has been damaged, informed the NC leader's relative Bijay Yadav. Meanwhile, demonstrators also vandalized Kalaiya Municipality and set ablaze its vehicle.
Police clashed with the demonstrators after the latter resorted to vandalism in government offices in Kalaiya municipality areas. To bring the situation under control, police opened fire in the air and lobbed a dozen of teargas shells, according to Chief District Officer (CDO) Bal Krishna Panthi.
