NC for democratic statute: Deuba

BHAIRAHAWA: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said his party needs two-thirds majority in the coming Constituent Assembly (CA) polls to ensure a new constitution.



Deuba also said that his party would produce a new constitution within a year if the party garners majority in the polls. “Our party will leave no stone unturned to ensure a democratic constitution,” he added. [break]



Addressing an electoral campaign in constituency 1 of Rupandehi on Friday, Deuba said, “Our party believes in decentralization to ensure balanced development of the country. UCPN (Maoist) should be blamed for the failure of last CA,” he accused. Deuba also claimed that people´s attraction toward his party was growing day after day.
