The Central Committee meeting also concluded that many points of the agreement especially those on integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants blatantly violated Interim Constitution, Comprehensive Peace Accord and other agreements between parties.[break]
“Nepali Congress condemns the agreement,” a press release issued by the party said.
The second largest party in parliament also decided to remain the opposition and constructively and creatively involved in the peace process and constitution writing through the Constituent Assembly.
“Nepali Congress decides to remain in the opposition in the present context,” the release added. “NC will determine the policy on government in accordance with the quality of the policy and programs of the government.”
In the meeting, Ram Chandra Poudel, Bimalendra Nidhi, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Arjun Narsingh KC, Mahesh Acharya, Purna Prasad Khadka, Dr Minendra Rijal, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Arjun Prasad Joshi, Dilendra Badu, Man Bahadur Biswokarma, Bishma Raj Angdambe, Krishna Chandra Nepali, Nabindra Raj Joshi and Gagan Thapa expressed their views.
