Nawalparasi see surge in diseases

PARASI, Oct 18: Patients suffering from various diseases have increased in Nawalparasi district with the approaching cold.



The District Public Health Office said the number of patients suffering from typhoid, viral fever, pneumonia and respiratory diseases has increased in the district since the past few weeks.



Dr. Binayak Gautam, a physician at Prithvi Chandra Hospital said the number of patients coming for treatment has swelled at the private clinics and government health posts.



The Nawalparasi District Hospital said 25 to 30 patients suffering from viral fever have been coming to the hospital daily for treatment.



It is said that four children have died due to viral fever in the district in the last few weeks but the District Public Health Office doe not have any record of these deaths, according to health workers.
