The school enrollment campaign has been launched with the objective of making successful the plan of providing primary education to all children by 2015 AD as per the ‘Education for All’ campaign.[break]
Officer at the Department, Divya Dawadi said the Department of Education has started the school enrollment campaign from today for getting 50,000 children of the five to 14 years age group admitted to schools.
Under the campaign, children who come for enrollment will be admitted to school until April 26 while a door-to-door visit would be conducted from April 27 to May 13 for enrolling children of school-going age who have not admitted to school.
The Department said there are 219,856 children of school-going age who are deprived of school education and the objective under the school enrollment campaign this year is to get 50,000 of these children admitted to school.
Some 4.9 million out of the 5.1 million children of school-going age go to school at present while the rest are left out of school education, the Department said.
