District Forest Officers from 74 districts participated in the meeting.
The participants will deliberate on issues confronting the forest sector with special focus on the development and preservation of community forests. It has been learnt that a guideline would be formulated by the end of the meeting.
The foresters have been pushing the forest ministry to develop transparent policy for transfer of officials and adoption of scientific method to develop this sector.
