Addressing the fifth Memorial Day of late NC leader Rai, NC Vice President Paudel urged the government to declare a section of highway as Bal Bahadur Rai Highway that would link Tarai districts with the upper hill districts in Sagarmatha zone. Paudel said that the plan to construct the highway would not have materialized without the initiative of late NC leader Rai.
"Both lawmakers are here. I want you to decide which section to declare as Bal Bahadur Highway. I urge the government to declare a section of the Siddhicharan Highway as Bal Bahadur Rai Highway," he said while asking Ram Hari Khatiwada and Yagya Sunuwar, elected as lawmakers from Okhaldhunga constituency number 2 and 1, respectively.

NC lawmaker Ram Hari Khatiwada urged the government to help build a well-equipped hospital in Okhaldhunga to recognize the contribution of late Rai. This hospital can provide services to the needy people from Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu and Khotang.
Likewise, another lawmaker from Okhaldhunga Yagya Sunuwar said the life style of late Rai was exemplary.
