KATHMANDU, Jan 10: The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), in collaboration with the Institute of Engineering, Thapathali Campus, successfully hosted the 9th Mobility Dialogue on “Completely Knocked Down (CKD) Vehicle Assembly: Opportunities, Challenges, and Prospects,” according to a press release.
Chaired by Campus Chief Dr Khem Gyawali, the program drew around 200 participants and featured technical presentations and a panel discussion. Speakers included Shreekant Yadav, Technical Director at the Department of Transport Management; NAIMA board member Shekhar Golchha; and Deputy Instructor Laxman Palikhel of Thapathali Campus.

Welcoming remarks emphasized the role of local manufacturing in national development, the potential of CKD assembly to create jobs and transfer technology, and the need for strong collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers. Panelists also cited global examples and discussed the long-term prospects of CKD assembly under the “Make in Nepal” initiative.
NAIMA Executive Director Raj Kumar Dulal announced plans to expand the Mobility Dialogue series, with the 10th edition scheduled at IOE Pulchok Campus.
