Severely tormented back then, Dhakal is admitted in Baglung District Hospital since the last one week with support from another Maoist leader Soni Kumar.
"Owing to lack of money I am compelled to continue treatment in this hospital even though the doctors here had advised me to go to a hospital in Kathmandu," lamented Dhakal.
He couldn´t make arrangement for proper medical treatment due to financial constraints. A father of nine children, the 65-year-old man has already sold his land and other properties for treatment.
In December 2001, NA personnel had detained Dhakal for a week at the local barrack and subjected him to a severe torture. "Both of my testicles were crushed when the army men hit me with their boots," he said. "I feel pain even while breathing due to the same problem."
Dhakal said no one was ready to support him. "Even the state hasn´t offered me the support I am entitled to as a conflict-affected person," he said.
