Mugu headquarters plunging into darkness since three days

MUGU, July 10: Gamgadhi, the district headquarters of the Mugu district, has been plunging into complete darkness since Tuesday night following Gamgadh-based Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA)'s hydroelectricity powerhouse with capacity of generating 400 kilowatt electricity encountered problem in its equipment.With the obstruction in the power generation, the pouwer outage has also hit various human settlements of the adjoining VDCs of Gamgadhi including Shrinagar, Karkiwada, Pina and Ruga.

According to NEA sub-station office at the Gamgadhi, it would take up to one week to fully restore the electricity supply in the area as it would take several days to bring and fix the new equipment at the powerhouse.

Following the power outage, daily essential works at all the governmental and non-governmental offices were badly affected.
