KATHMANDU, Aug 4: The Madhesi People´s Right Forum (Democratic), which split from Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF), has become the fourth largest party with 28 members in the Constituent Assembly. On Tuesday, MPRF (D) led by Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar applied to CA Chairman Subas Nembang to recognize his party in the parliament.

The Election Commission last Friday registered the new party as a separate group of MPRF. With this development, the MPRF has become the fifth largest party with 25 members in the CA. Earlier before the split, the MPRF was the forth largest party with 53 members in the Constituent Assembly.

“The application has been received and a decision to that effect will be taken shortly,” said Nembang after receiving the application.
