Morang industrialists withdraw strike

BIRATNAGAR, March 14: Industrialists, who were on strike demanding electricity, withdrew their agitation following an agreement.



According to the agreement, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has to provide additional 20 MW of electricity for the industries situated in Sunsari-Morang corridor. The agitating industrialists and NEA Executive Director Dr. Jibendra Jha signed the pact in this regard.



The NEA has also pledged to repair Tankisinwari-based multifuel of 39 MW and bring back it into operation within six months.



Dinesh Golchha, President of Morang Industry Association, said an agreement has been made to bring two feeders, out of three, into full operation within a month and reduce daily load-shedding by six hours.
