KATHMANDU, Aug 29: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has reported that the monsoon’s low-pressure line is currently positioned south of its usual location in the east and near its average position in the west.

This afternoon, a blanket of clouds is expected to spread across much of the nation. Moderate rainfall is likely in many hilly areas, particularly in Sudurpaschim Province, with light showers possible at isolated locations elsewhere. The MFD has cautioned of heavy downpours at one or two places in the hilly and Terai belts of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
By nightfall, skies across the country are expected to remain largely overcast. Moderate rainfall is likely at several locations in the hilly regions, along with light to moderate showers at a few places in the Terai. The MFD has further warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
