According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, maximum temperature in the Valley was 19.9 degrees on Wednesday, the lowest so far this year, as against 24.7 degrees on Tuesday. However, minimum temperature on Tuesday morning was lower by 3 degree than that of Wednesday´s.
Meteorologists said the drastic fall in temperature was an offshoot of a sudden cyclone surge in the Arabian Sea. "The Valley witnessed immense cloud on Wednesday, which resulted in the drop in the mercury," meteorologist Rajendra Shrestha said, adding, "The temperature is likely to drop further for two more days."
