Although the mercury continues to plummet with the onset of winter, Kathmandu temperature has dropped below zero degrees Celsius since Monday. The capital recorded temperature below zero degrees Celsius on Monday since 2008. The minimum temperature recorded in 2008 was 0.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu this morning was minus 1.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature on Monday morning was 0.7 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologist at the Division, Shiva Nepal, said that although mercury in Kathmandu may not plunge for many days, cold conditions will still continue.
