Photo Journalist Narendra Shrestha was the star of the event as he was able to grab first place in three categories namely, Photo of the Year, News and Tourism. Narendra Mainali, an Independent Photographer bagged first prize in Photo Story category.[break]
In the News category, Rakesh Prasad Chaudhary got second followed by Sailendra Kharel as third. In the tourism category Shashish Maharjan stood second and Ravi Sayami (Manandhar) was third.

Lastly, Uma Bista got the second prize and Narendra Shrestha once again secured the third position in the Photo Story category and the Honorable Mention award was given to Kishor K Sharma.
A total of 138 photos were short listed out of 7000 photos submitted by more than 800 amateur and professional photographers from around Nepal were judged in the final round by a panel of well known photographer such as Gopal Chitrakar, Chandra Shekhar Karki, Sujan Chitrakar, Jagdish Tiwari, Mani Lama, Bikash Rauniyar, Bijay Kumar Pandey and Aditya Baral.
The selected 138 photos are set to be exhibited in Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Dhangadi from May 11.
