Police said he committed suicide at the quarter of his father Uday Lal Dangol, who teaches at Eastern Regional Engineering College.

The quarter is located at Tinkune, Dharan-8. Students and dentists have demanded a probe saying Dangol resorted to suicide owing to mistake of officials at the institute.

They say the attendance reports that have to be made public several times a year was made public only a day before the exam this time around allowing little time for the deceased to do anything about it, though 10 others with low attendance managed to adjust the attendance to qualify for the exam.

Agitating students are demanding resignation of concerned authorities and action against the culprits.
