It was the consecutive defeat of the RMC Yodha in the super league round, as it had suffered a defeat against Arihant Group Biratnagar on Wednesday. [break]However, Bagmati Chargers Bhairahawa, which had lost against Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday, defeated Arihant Group on Thursday by two wickets.
In the first match of the day, Maruti Suzuki elected to bat and put up 169/7 in allotted 20 overs as Hitesh Dalmiya scored 61 runs off 34 balls. Dalmiya hit 11 boundaries during the blistering innings. Amol Sharma added 29 runs off 21 balls and Abhishek Bathwal and Dipesh Agrawal both chipped in with unbeaten 13 runs each. Rahul Agrawal, Jay Prakash Sarraf took two wickets each while Pawan Agrawal claimed a wicket.
Chasing the 170-run target, RMC Yodha put up a good fight but man-of-the-match Summit Sharma claimed four wickets to stop RMC Yodha at 143/8 in 20 overs. Pawan Agrawal scored 51 runs off 43 balls including four boundaries and two sixes. Sumit Kadmiya added 25 runs and Krishna Soni scored 19 runs but RMC Yodha still remained 26 runs short of the target. Naveen Jain, Umesh Kochar and Amol Sharma claimed a wicket each.
After the win, Maruti Suzuki has four points from two matches while RMC Yodha has no points from two matches. Arihant Group has two points from two matches and Bagmati Chargers Bhairahawa has two points from two matches after beating former by two wickets on Thursday.
In the second match of the day, Arihant elected to bat and put up 170/3 in allotted 20 overs. Pankaj Parakh Pawan scored unbeated 52 runs off 32 balls including three sixes and a boundary while Shailesh Sethia scored 48 runs off 34 balls. Paras Lunia also remained unbeaten with 45 runs off 21 balls. Lunia hit four boundaries and two sixes.
In reply, Rahul Agrawal (41 runs), Saurabh Agrawal (33 runs), Dinesh Agrawal (unbeaten 26 runs) and Sunil Sethia (21 runs) helped Bagmati Chargers reach 171/8 in 20 overs. Arihant gave away 22 runs in extras.
Gaurav Sethia and Paras Lunia took two wickets each for Arihant but could not stop Bagmati Chargers from winning the match. Dinesh Agrawal, who took a wicket and scored unbeaten 26 runs for Bagmati Chargers, was adjudged man-of-the-match.
