KIATHMANDU, Aug 29: The office bearers’ meeting of UCPN (Maoist) on Monday morning decided to suggest to the government to extend the Constituent Assembly (CA) term by six months.

The Maoist decision comes a day after the House elected party Vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai the country’s new prime minister. [break]

Party Secretary CP Gajurel informed that the party will register a proposal to that effect at the House secretariat later today.

Maoists have been showing reservation about the bill registered by the erstwhile Jhalanath Khanal-led government that proposes the term extension of CA by only three months.
