Koirala and NC leader Ram Chandra Paudel have issued a statement demanding that action be taken against Paras Shah. Earlier, the prime minister had also informed the media that he had issued directives to the Ministry of Home Affairs to take necessary action against Shah.
“We should also look into other aspects of the incident before arriving at any conclusion,” Maoist politburo member, Kul Prasad KC, said.
Claiming that India had engineered the Tiger Top Resort incident, KC added that an investigation should be launched against Rubel Chaudhary.
“The incident had occurred on Saturday but NC leaders raised the issue at Mandikhatar and gave it a political color. What is the mystery behind this?” KC questioned, adding that as the center of the dispute was the issue of nationality, it could be taken as India´s grand design.
If Paras´ statement is to be believed, it is extremely inappropriate for a foreign national to speak against the country´s internal affairs and hurt national sentiments, KC said.
Maoist Chitwan district in-charge Anil Sharma said though all Nepalis were aware of Paras´ past conducts, allegations labeled against him are objectionable as it involves the issue of nationality.
“If Paras resorted to such extremes under provocation, Rubel should also come under the purview of investigation,” he said. “If Paras had opened fire on such grounds, his act is absolutely justifiable.”
Meanwhile, Party Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma took strong exception to “politicization” of the incident leaving other urgent issues unattended.
“It is inappropriate that attempts are being made to politicize the incident instead of launching an independent probe,” he added.
