"The conclusion of the peace process and constitution drafting is our official line and you should rally around this line," a participant quoted Bogati as saying during the gathering held at Khanna Garment in Lalitpur on Monday.[break]
Bogati, who is also the coordinator of a committee formed to hold the national convention of the Maoist-aligned All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF), also criticized the party hardline faction for defying the party decision to end the security details to senior party leaders by PLA members.
"They should submit the weapons and the guards to the cantonments immediately. Their stance is against the official decision of the party," one participant quoted Bogati. Bogati stressed that the minority should abide by the decision of the majority as per the principle of "democratic centralism".
Around 1,200 union leaders from across the country participated in the gathering.
Meanwhile leaders of the rival trade union factions Badri Bajgain and Lal Dhwaj Nembang have accused the party establishment of being involved in factionalism to split the party.
"It is extreme factionalism, an attempt to split the party," said Bajgain.
The factionalism in the party has been reflected in the Maoist trade union.
Former ANTUF chief Salikram Jammakattel is close to Dahal and former ANTUF Vice-chairman Badri Bajgain to Mohan Baidya, former Assistant General Secretary Lal Dhwaj Nembang is close to Baburam Bhattarai.
The rival Maoist factions have lately stepped up their campaigns in the party to consolidate their position as the party stands at a critical juncture of the peace process.
