The deceased has been identified as Jogindra Shah of Durgapur VDC-3. Shah was rushed to hospital after the incident but died while undergoing treatment in Koshi Zonal hospital, Biratnagar.[break]
According to Shailendra Gachchhadar, Assistant Police Inspector of Area Police Office, Golbazaar, local Laxman Mahato and Ashweshor Mahato brutally thrashed Das following a minor debate among them on June 8. Both accused of thrashing to Das are absconding now.
