He told the police that the murder was a result of his wife´s extra marital affairs with CB Lama 40, in-charge of a restaurant inside Patan Musuem where his wife worked.[break]
Deula shot Shova in the temple at around 1 a.m. and then made an unsuccessful attempt to kill Lama at his residence near Nakkhu, according to the police. When his plan to kill lama failed, he surrendered to Metropolitan Police Range, Hanuman Dhoka at around mid-day. Spokesperson of Metropolitan Police DSP Dhiraj Pratap Singh said the police seized a German revolver with 5 rounds of bullet and one Chinese pistol with 6 round of bullets.
“I killed her because she was having extra-maritial relations with another man.” Deula confessed to the media. He has a son and two daughters.
According to a statement made to the police, Deula suspected his wife for returning home late and recieving calls frequently till late night. He had been following her to work place with his brother-in-law since last May. He claimed that Shova denied his allegations of extra-marital affairs by "making alibi" which compelled him to kill her, according to the statement.
He decided to kill her when his son and daughter informed him that they won´t be home on Sunday night and placed the pistol under the pillow of their bed room. “ Shova was withering in pain for some time and later stopped but younger daughter, who was sleeping in the next room, wasn´t be aware of the incident,” he explained to the police.
“At around 5 a.m. I reached the area where Lama lived and had a cup of tea then went to his home with the two weapons ready to fire,” he said. Lama got up after his father woke him up and asked me to speak in private on the top of his house. “Later when I tried to shot him but my pistol didn´t fire and I had to run away from there," he told the police.
After the unsuccessful attempt, he choose to surrender at Hanuman Dhoka, a place where he had spent 22 days in 2005 for looting Rastriya Beema Sansthan at Singh Durbar. Under arms and ammunition act he was later sent to Bhadragol Jail for three years. He worked in Meghaciti Hospital, Janapremi College and Supsana Party Palace after being releasing in 2008 as a sweeper.
“I was planning to fly abroad for work but now I am sad for my children but have no regrets for the murder," according to the statement to the police.
He also confessed that he bought weapons from the money he had saved at the employees provident fund when he was working as a sweeper at Prasuti Griha, Thapathali. Just before last Dashain he had bought revolver for IRS 15 thousand and pistol for IRS 22 thousand from Anawa Miya at Bihar, India. “I bought the weapons to rob Nepal Bank," he told to the police.
Deula was sent to Bhaktapur District Police Office for further investigation according to the Metropolitan Police Range, Hanuman Dhoka.
