Man gone missing in conflict era returns home

SOLUKHUMBU, July 16: A man here who was believed to have gone missing during the armed conflict has returned home.



The local peace committee in Solukhumbu district had recommended for state compensation for the family of one Sitaram Rai of Deusa- 7 seven months ago.[break]



The Rai family has already received Rs. 100,000 under the first phase of compensation distribution, said the District Administration Office, Solukhumbu.



Following the arrival of Rai, the Office has halted the release of the amount of second installment to the family.



The committee has decided to initiate further investigation into the case.It is learnt that Rai was working as a labourer in India during his disappearance.
