Police have detained Shiva Devkota of Budhsingh-4, who was riding pillion on the bike, for questioning, informed deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Deepak Raj Kharel at the district police office, Nuwakot.
The mishap occurred while the two were riding across the river, Kharel said.
His body has been sent to the district hospital for post-mortem.
The deceased was the chairman of the Nuwakot chapter of Gas Dealers´ Association and the owner of Hotel Rison in Bidur, the district headquarters.
