CHITWAN, Jan 21: Agni Aastha Private Limited, a subsidiary of Agni Group and Nepal’s authorized distributor for Mahindra vehicles, has officially launched Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUVs—the BE 6 and XEV 9e—in Chitwan. Built on Mahindra’s advanced INGLO platform and powered by MAIA, one of the world’s most intelligent automotive architectures, these eSUVs mark a new era of electric mobility in the region, the company said in a press release.
According to the press release issued by the company, the launch event was held at Hotel Siraichuli, Bharatpur, Chitwan, attended by key dignitaries including Chiranjibi Subedi, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chitwan; Cabinet Shrestha, Chairman of Agni Group; and Chaitanya Kagalkar, Country Manager of Mahindra & Mahindra, along with Mahindra customers, EV enthusiasts, media personnel, and company representatives.
Speaking at the event, Cabinet Shrestha highlighted Agni Group’s vision for promoting electric mobility in Nepal and the region, while Chaitanya Kagalkar shared insights into Mahindra’s Born Electric Vehicle (BEV) technology and global EV roadmap, the press release said.
Mahindra launches electric rickshaw
Nepal was first introduced to the BE 6 and XEV 9e during the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo in August 2025. Since then, these vehicles have gained popularity among Nepali consumers, combining advanced technology, intelligent design, high performance, and sustainability. The XEV 9e recently received the Green Car of the Year 2026 award at the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY), reflecting its innovation and performance excellence.
Agni Group said that the company further plans to expand Mahindra’s electric SUV lineup across multiple regions, with future launches planned in Birgunj, Bhairahawa, and Itahari. “Regional launches like this in Chitwan bring world-class electric mobility closer to Nepali consumers and support the country’s transition toward sustainable development,” the company said.
The BE 6 and XEV 9e feature Mahindra’s Heartcore design philosophy. The BE 6 offers a sporty, adventure-inspired look, while the XEV 9e showcases a refined SUV coupe design for luxury and comfort. Both vehicles deliver smooth and responsive performance, with most variants offering 99 kW of power, and the XEV 9e Pack Three pushing up to 199 kW.
Inside, these eSUVs provide immersive digital experiences, including a race-ready digital cockpit in the BE 6 and a cinematic triple-screen dashboard in the XEV 9e. Both feature advanced smart technology such as Harman Kardon Sonic Studio, LiveYourMood presets, AR-based VisionX Heads-Up Display, ADAS Level 2/2+ safety systems, 360° surveillance cameras, and the EyeDentity driver monitoring system. Smart parking and remote connectivity are also included via Mahindra’s ME4U app, offering a fully connected electric mobility experience, the press release further stated.
