Flight services to and from Mahakali zone have not been brought into operation again. The services have been shut two decades ago citing armed conflict and unavailability of passengers.[break]
The tourism enterprises here have been adversely affected when airports including Majgaun of Kanchanpur, Patan of Baitadi and Gokuleswor of Darchula have not been operated.
Though the government has declared 2011 as tourism year, the airports here have been turned into cattle grazing ground due to lack of protection efforts.
Equipments installed in the airport worth tens of thousands rupees have also been stolen.
