Lohani guides Nepal Blue to victory

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: A brilliant knock from Paresh Lohani guided Nepal Blue team led by Gyanendra Malla to a six-wicket win over Nepal Red in a friendly match on Wednesday.



Lohani scored 33 runs off 32 balls before being run out. Nepal Blue lost four wickets in course of chasing the total of 101 runs.[break]



Naresh Budhayer scored 17 runs off 23 balls for the blue team. Earlier, winning the toss Nepal Red opted to bat first and scored 100 runs losing all the wickets in 19.5 overs.



Paras Khadka scored 19 runs while Anil Mandal scored 18 runs. Avinash Karna, Mehaboob Alam and Rahul BK grabbed two wickets each for the blue team while Basanta Regmi took three wickets.



Nepal women´s U-19 registered four wickets victory in the other friendly match played against Kathmandu Cricket Training Center (KCTC). Winning the toss, KCTC batted first and scored 105 runs losing all wickets in 24.1 overs. Madhu Thapa was the highest scorer for KCTC as she scored 26 runs.



Rubina Chhetri grabbed three wickets while Saraswati Chaudhary and Sangeeta Gauchan took two wickets each. Nepal U-19 reached the target in just 21.3 overs losing six wickets.



Rubina Chhetri scored 24 while Indu Berma scored 22 runs for the winning team. Sarita Magar and Binu Budhamagar grabbed two wickets each for KCTC.
