As a part of the phase-wise protest program of the airport concerned committee, various persons including Durga Baral (Batsayan), Ananda Raj Mulmi, Jhalak Thapa, Haridevi Koirala, Sipora Gurung, Surendra Thapa Magar, and Biswashankar Palikhe have participated in the strike.[break]
A meeting of the committee held on Wednesday had decided to hold the hunger strike demanding the construction of an international-level regional airport here. The government had acquired 3106 ropanis of land at Chhine Danda in 2031 BS, citing for the construction of an international airport.
Meanwhile, all the flights in and out from the Pokhara Airport have been halted as part of protest against the government. As per the request of the committee, airlines operators have halted the flights, expressing solidarity in the agitation programs initiated by the committee.
