Locals attack cops

BARA, Dec 19: At least nine policemen and as many locals were injured in a clash between the two sides after the police reached Kabahigoth-1 in Bara to seize stolen motorcycles on Saturday.



The villagers clashed with the police, accusing the police of arresting an innocent person Panna Lal Yadav in the case. They pelted stones at the police.



Sub-inspector Bijaya Yadav, head constable Birendra Yadav, and constables Ram Binaya Yadav, Dipak Khatri, Chandan Sah, Umesh Yadav, Ananda Malla, Dev Narayan Mahato and Dipendra Singh were injured in the incident. As many villagers were also injured in the incident. But their identities are not known.



Police said the situation is under control.
