Little Miss World Nepal 2011

KATHMANDU, April 7: Beauty pageants are a dime a dozen, but we are here to break the stereotype and create a benchmark when it comes to pageantry, said Deependra Ratna Shakya, executive director of Nepalese Council and national director of Little Miss World.



Preparations are in full swing for the first ever Little Miss World Nepal 2011, targeted for August 20. [break]



The event, dubbed as a beauty and talent festival for children, is open to girls of Nepali origin in the 9-13 age group.



The window for application submissions starts from April 11, Monday, and is open until July 27.



“Our aim is not just to produce a beautiful face but somebody who’s able to represent Nepal in the world arena,” shared Shakya, adding, “The title holder will also be instrumental in the promotion of Nepal Tourism Year 2011.”



The winner of the title will compete with contestants from more than 45 countries in the 11th Little Miss World to be held in Sunny Antalya, Turkey on October 8 of this year.
