Prassanna KC, president of Laxmi Cares, said that the proceeds from sponsors is not enough for the street lights. “A single solar street light costs about Rs 80,000.
Hence, the total expenses would come around Rs 1.7 million and we have already raised Rs 1 million. The remaining funds will be sponsored by Laxmi Bank.”
Renowned Nepali singer Yogeshwar Amatya said that he is happy to be a part of the event. “If possible, we must stop vehicle for one day in a week and ride bicycle.”
Laxmi Cares had earlier conducted cross country race for bikers, but, due to lack of time, they will not conduct the race in this edition.
“We will conduct the race next year on the anniversary of the bank in the first week of April,” KC added.
KC informed that altogether 300 cyclists had participated in the rally last year and the number may increase in this edition.
