DANG, June 10: Nine persons, including Laxman Tharu, Chairman of Tharuhat Tarai Party, have been injured in a jeep accident at Satbariya of Dang Sunday morning.
According to police, Tharu and a cadre of the party Bhanu Ram Tharu are in a critical condition. Tharu have sustained serious injuries on his head and armpit. They are undergoing treatment at Kohalpur Medical College (KMC), informed district police office, Dang.[break]
The rest of the injured have been identified as Gopal Dahit, driver of the jeep, Sonu Tharu, Ganga Tharu, Mahadev Chaudhary, Min Raj Chaudhary, Sonumati Chaudhary and Narayan Chaudhary. They are also undergoing treatment at KMC.
The other two passengers have escaped the incident unhurt.
The jeep (Bhe 1 Cha 1208) en-route to Bardiya, met with the accident in Amiliya-9, Satbariya of Dang along the Dang-Nepalgunj road section of the East-West Highway.
A front tyre of the jeep busted causing the accident, police said.
A total of 11 passengers were aboard during the time of the incident.
