KU to open on Monday

KATHMANDU, March 27: Classes at the Kathmandu University (KU), Dhulikhel will resume on Monday after 26 days of padlock.



After an six-point agreement between the three student groups who had padlocked the university following dispute in student body election, independent students and KU administration, the padlock was opened on Sunday evening, according to Aakarpost, a blog by a KU student who participated in the campaign to open the university.[break]



According to the agreement, an independent probe committee will be formed which will provide report within eight days. Until a final report is submitted, all election results are put on hold, the blog said.



The KU administration also agreed to reschedule the calendar.



The KU students gherao the vice-chancellor´s office on Monday morning to pressure administration to step up for ending the strike.
