BUTWAL, April 9: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala stressed on the early completion of the peace process to facilitate promulgation of the new constitution within May 27.

Addressing a gathering of party cadres organized here by the NC Butwal town committee, President Koirala said the country will have to meet the fate of Afghanistan, plunging into a conflict if the new statute is not promulgated in time.

There is now no need to sign further agreements for completion of the twin tasks of peace and constitution, he argued, adding the past pacts are enough for the purpose should Maoists abide by them.

He also underlined the need to make a strong and united Congress for the party to be able to take charge of the next government. ´

´I am dedicated in every manner to consolidate the party organization and move ahead along with all party cadres´, Koirala added.

Speaking on the same occasion, NC central working committee member Bal Krishna Khand said the differences surfaced in the party should be managed to run the party effectively.
