The leaders discussed current political situation and term extension of the Constituent Assembly (CA).
It was learned that Koirala told Bijukchhe that the CA term should not be extended based on an agreement between two persons and without guaranteeing the drafting of new constitution and conclusion of peace process in extended term.
Bijukchhe told Koirala that while there had been mistake by the government registering the motion to extend the CA term without consensus from other parties, there was no alternative of CA term extension to ensure new constitution.
In recent days, the main opposition NC has expedited parleys with fringe parties to garner support on their stance on CA term extension.
