KATHMANDU, Oct 25: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has designated eight locations within the city for the celebration of Chhath festival on Sunday.
Metropolitan City Police Chief Rajunath Pandey provided the details during a press conference on Saturday. According to him, the designated venues include Kamalpokhari, Gaurighat, Boksidaha, Bagmati Dobhan, Tankeshwor, Balkhu Kumari Club area, Kuleshwor Volleyball Ground and Ramghat.

Pandey said that cleaning and preparation works have already begun in these areas. More than 300 sanitation workers have been deployed to ensure a clean and safe environment for worshippers.
He also assured that the metropolis has made systematic preparations so the festival can be celebrated without any shortage of resources. He emphasized that no money will be collected in the name of Chhat, urging the public to report immediately if anyone attempts to charge fees.
Additionally, people have been requested not to park vehicles in the designated celebration zones to avoid crowding and ensure smooth management of devotees.
Chhath is celebrated by worshipping the Sun God at rivers and ponds, offering prayers for health, prosperity, and well-being.
