KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Sunita Dangol, Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), has been elected to the CPN-UML Central Committee, securing 1,668 votes.



Making her debut in a party general convention, Dangol won the Central Committee seat reserved for candidates under the age of 40 from the capital region. She secured a decisive victory over her two rivals, with Rajan Thapa garnering 229 votes and Santosh Khadka receiving 330.

Dangol emerged as one of the most talked-about leaders during the convention, attracting attention for her strong campaign and broad support among party members.
