Karna represents Madhesi parties in sub committee

KATHMANDU, Feb. 26: Laxman Lal Karna has been selected to represent Madhesi parties in the sub-committee formed to resolve disputed issues of constitution drafting on Friday.



The sub-committee is tasked to present its report within mid-March. The constitution drafting process is not making much progress because of dispute over 83 issues related to drafts prepared by seven thematic committees. [break]



The committee got the full shape after Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik), Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party and Sadhbhawana Party picked Karna´s name.



Chairman of Unified CPN (Maoist) Prachanda, Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel, CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Kalpana Rana are the other members of the committee.



A meeting of Constitutional Committee held on Friday formed the five-member sub-committee.
