KATHMANDU, Oct 16: A South Korea-based organization has supported Rs 58,000 for flood and landslide-hit people in various districts in farwestern Nepal.

Executive Secretary of the organization -- Joy Together -- Reverend Lee Jung-Won on Friday handed over the amount to the Managing Director of Nepal Republic Media Binod Raj Gyawali for depositing in the Nagarik Relief Fund.

After handing over the amount, Lee said the amount, though little, is aimed at providing relief to the victims of landslide and floods.

“The pain of the people living in western Nepal is also the pain of those living in the eastern part of the country,” she said. “We started collecting the amount as a part of our responsibility to help fellow Nepalis.”

On the occasion, Managing Director Gyawali said such a noble effort will help unite Nepalis living in various parts of the country. Gyawali said that the amount collected in Nagarik Relief Fund will be handed over to the Prime Minister´s Relief Fund for cause of the victims.
