BIRGUNJ, April 20: Rautahat-based journalists on Wednesday boycotted a press conference organized on behalf of Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala. The press conference was scheduled at the Nepal Electricity Authority guest house at Chandranigahapur.

“We boycotted the press conference after concluding that party leaders are not serious towards completing the peace process and writing a new constitution on time,” said Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Rautahat Vice-president Ashok Pahadi.[break]

According to Pahadi, journalists in the district will boycott all functions that various party leaders are scheduled to attend.

“Party leaders have long been engaging in power-sharing. They don´t seem to be serious about completing the peace process and promulgating a new constitution within the stipulated timeframe. So we won´t attend any program that party leaders are participating in,” Pahadi added.
