Journalist Pariyar awarded

KATHMANDU : Television journalist Prakash Chandra Pariyar has been awarded with Dr Ambedkar International Kalashree Award 2012 for his contribution to social justice, human rights and anti-untouchabilty movement through journalism in Nepal.



 Former Social Justice Minister Satyanrayan Jatiya, Governer of Arunachal State Dr Mataprasad and Vice Chancellor of South India Hindi University H Hanumanthappa jointly honored journalist Pariyar amidst a function in New Delhi Sunday.[break]



The award was established by Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Academy in 1984. Dalit leader Sushila Shreepaili and activist Prem Pokharel from Nepal were also feted on the sidelines of the two-day International Conference of Dalit writers and journalists being held at Panchasheel Ashram in New Delhi. Delegates from USA, Canada, Britain, Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh are participating in the conference that began on Sunday.
