“She has lost her moral ground to remain in the post as she has frequently differed with the prime minister´s policies. Any minister that keeps on speaking nonsense against the government policy can´t stay in the post,” Jhankri said at a press meet on Friday.
Stating that Bhandari must respect the prime minister´s leadership and policy, Jhankri questioned, “Otherwise, whose instruction is she going to follow?”
Bhandari recently had ruled out any possibility of bulk integration of the Maoist combatants in the national army while the prime minister has been saying that the matter will be resolved as per the recommendations of the Special Committee formed to oversee the matter. Both the prime minister and Bhandari represent the CPN-UML.
Jhankri accused Bhandari of politicizing the Nepal Army (NA) and dragging it into controversy. She said the ANNFSU will launch a nationwide campaign to press the political parties to write the new constitution on time.
